Watched: Switchfoot sets Manila ON FIRE!

That’s right! Last April 11, 2011, Switchfoot came and rocked Manila in their own style and I was there to experience it… and it was nothing but A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

Switchfoot is as brilliant live as they are in the studio. They put on an amazing performance, with an awesome message. In a world where pain and suffering are so common, and negativity is so prevalent, it was refreshing to hear a band with a positive and spiritual message. I love that they can relate to the audience and really make it feel that your the only ones there just having a great night hanging out with them.

Jon is a hyperactive dude, he was running all over the stage, jumping off the kick drum, banging on cymbals, walking on the seats out into the crowd and he hardly sounded winded at all. He did not miss a note. Man, does he have some great vocals! At the middle of the concert, he asked the venue-staff to turn off all the lights (yes, ALL the lights) so that everyone could take pictures simultaneously. And of course, one of the reasons why I love this band is because of Jerome Fontamillas, a multi-talented Filipino artists. He has played the keyboards, the guitar and other instruments, as well as sung backing vocals in Switchfoot.

Camera phone… boo!

This was my first time seeing Switchfoot live, and it was everything I could have hoped for. They rocked every song from their new album, plus some old classics. It was almost hard to distinguish their album from their hits, that’s how good Hello Hurricane is. My only complaint was that it was too short – I didn’t want the night to end! Overall great music and atmosphere, I would definitely go again.
